Descripción editorial
‘Of all the guitarists that I’ve listened to and studied over the years John Lee Hooker is the one steeped in the real DNA of the blues. You can’t help but be drawn into the primitive and simplistic way, that with just a few riffs and chords, he conjured up the sound of both the Mississippi Delta and the West African roots of the blues. When I’m giving a blues guitar workshop I often say - if you want to play authentic blues guitar there’s only one riff you need, and that of course is one by the genius that was John Lee Hooker. In this course I’ll be sharing some of these riffs, and exploring the ways you can begin to sound just like the ‘Healer’ himself. So, settle down, get your foot tapping and let’s play some 'Hooker Blues’. This Course includes in-depth exercises and 11 study tunes in the Hooker style all supported by video.

Too technical. Just for guitar players
A lot of sol-fa and peculiar rhythm schemes.
There are some personal impressions about the origin of unique John Lee’s style, which I liked a lot. But I do not think there were still playing African style Xalam at that time (20s-30s), or any possibility for if JLK would have travelled outside the US, as poor as he was by then. Instead, original folk blues was not standarized yet and after Robert Johnson’s success and admiration, every blues player tried to get that sound, in my opinion, though ‘exotique’ rhythm players may have gone down in several decades instead of ‘proper’ 12 bar blues
