Left for dead by a hit-and-run driver, Megan Dennis can no longer work as a wildlife ranger. While waiting for the police to find the driver, she is caught up in several mysteries involving friends and strangers. Helping her put together the clues are her friend Kylie, a computer genius with secrets of her own, and Troy, a local policeman who tries to keep her out of trouble - and out of danger.

Megan Dennis is helping a friend of a friend, Dee Harris, find her grandmother. But Dee insists that her grandmother isn't just missing, that she and one of her cats have been kidnapped and the police won't help.
