Descripción editorial

This book is a photographic travel guide to Ireland, as well as the cities of Dublin, Cork, Galway and the Wild Atlantic Road running along the west coast.

Saying a picture tells more than 1000 words and letting the pictures speak is the primary focus of this book, and I hope to give you an impression of the atmosphere and sights of Ireland in a visual way.

Since the content is visual, on the last page there are a number of Internet links that may be relevant if you need more specific information about Ireland and the cities.

Ireland, the Green Island, has a long history of its name and the population originates from the Celts who immigrated about 700 years before Christ's birth (BC), and the Celtic culture still lives in the language and in Irish sports such as Gaelic football and "hurling". About 400 AD Christianity came to the island with the monks, and the Vikings ravaged Ireland in the years 700 - 1000 AD.

After the Viking people came the Normans and the English, and the next 750 years were characterized by many rebellions and repression of the original Irish people.

The Celtic culture was under intense pressure, but survived in faith, language and music until 1922, when a sanctuary was formed under the Commonwealth, and the culture was free to flourish again.

So if you are looking for Celtic culture and cities with atmosphere, beautiful green landscapes and friendly people, Ireland can provide you with unique experiences.
