A starkly original and heart breaking tale of friendship and rebellion

A COSTA 2012 BOOK AWARD WINNER

A boy, a friendship, a lie and some hard choices. The Motherland is a world in which individuality and difference are crushed but Standish Treadwell won't be subdued.

Utterly original and stunning, it is impossible not to be moved by MAGGOT MOON's powerful story and the unforgettable heroism of Standish.

'...beautiful, twisted and dark. A masterpiece'. --The Big Issue
