MAKING FORM

This publication critically explores the revival of British fine metalwork by designer-makers since roughly the 1970s. It explores areas within the field including; the increase in the number of practitioners, the creative use of a wider range of metals, the supplementing of traditional techniques with newer ones, design innovation and product ranges, with emphasis on art objects and how all of this, taken together, has fundamentally transformed the craft.

 

The book is substantial and scholarly in scope and contains roughly 70,000 words, including footnotes, glossary, and over 200 still and moving images.
