Descripción editorial

The Komodo Dragon is Earth’s largest living lizard, also known as the varanus. Like the typical legendary dragon, it is a man-eater. Its mouth is full of many deadly bacteria and its saliva contains venom. Once bitten, the victim suffers long and painful agony. Fortunately, the dragon lives on seven Indonesian islands only - Komodo (from where it takes its name), Padar, Flores, Gili Motang, Owadi, Samiin and Rinca. All in the southern part of the archipelago, a string of islands called the Lesser Sunda Islands.

This book described the author’s short, ten days trip to Bali, Lombok, Rinca and Flores in August 2007. It describes personal and unique experiences during the visit. It contains 125 original photographs taken during the trip, descriptions of places to eat, drink, sleep and socialise with the locals and other travellers, as well as places of worship. More essentially, it describes a number of options to travel to Rinca and Komodo to see the dragons.

Proceeds from the sale of this book go to sponsor education of poor children in West Africa.
