PHotoBolsillo Marcos López

Marcos López participa de todas y cada una de las imágenes que toma y que construye desde hace más de treinta años, lo que le ha valido ser uno de los autores latinoamericanos más reconocidos del siglo XX y comienzos del XXI. Nacido en Santa Fe (al norte de Buenos Aires), sorteó su destino para dedicarse a la fotografía, y abandonó sus estudios de ingeniería para marcharse a la capital en los años ochenta. Tuvo claro desde el principio que quería ser artista, que sus fotografías no debían estar al servicio de la publicidad, ni de la prensa, que debían estar en exposiciones y museos. Este libro repasa su obra e incluye, además, un video sobre el trabajo del artista.


Marcos López participates in each and every one of the images that he has taken and constructed for more than thirty years, which has enabled him to become one of the most well-known Latin American authors of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first. Born in Santa Fe (to the north of Buenos Aires), he eluded his destiny to become a photographer and abandoned his engineering studies to move to the capital during the nineteen eighties. From the beginning, he knew he wanted to be an artist and that he did not want his photographs to be at the service of advertising or the press. Instead he wanted them to appear in exhibitions and museums. This book reviews his production and includes also a video about the artist’s work.
