Hollis Griffin never knew her father. His choice; New Orleans power-broker Olivier DuChesne had knocked up a waitress and then cut her and her daughter out of his life. Although she and her mother never enjoyed DuChesne’s wealth or status, Hollis grew up to be self-sufficient and independent. She has no interest in meeting the father she never knew.

But as he’s battling a terminal illness, DuChesne needs to see her. So he hires private investigator Ray Fargo to find her and bring her to New Orleans.

Ray knows how to do his job. He finds Hollis—a talented art photographer—and gradually, gently convinces her to honor her father’s dying wish.
