Sotogrande International School
This multitouch and interactive book describes and documents the process of creating compost by recycling school organic waste to create a sustainable economic model for communities in need.
At Sotogrande International School we strongly believe that social entrepreneurship is a fantastic sustainable, inclusive and scalable way for students to manage and influence positive change. Through our Global Citizenship Programme, social entrepreneurship is integrated throughout our school curriculum. It also plays a major role within our student-led NGO, The Kindred Project.
Our initial idea was based on using worms to create the compost. However after further research, we discovered “hot turn composting” accelerates the composting process and therefore changed our idea and based our project on creating organic compost. Our compost machine turns the organic waste at regular set times. This aerates the organic matter and keeps it at an unstable temperature and PH with a moist humidity level. Using this method we are able to decrease the composting period from three months to twenty one days.
Es una auténtica experiencia poder ver todos los proyectos realizados por Sotogrande International School.
