Perhaps a bit too much cake and ale?
This is the third book from Tessa Dare for me . I really enjoyed the other 2 books of her. This one is fun and starts out very good, but the main plot was just not strong enough..
I recommend the Duchess Deal and the Wallflower wager.
She makes a subtle honorable mention to Jane Austen when the sister Daphne who got married by eloping, insists on walking ahead of Clio when entering Clio’s own castle… Nicely done…
