The Global DataNet chronicles every facet of human existence, shaping reality itself. But what if reality is a lie?  Investigative journalist Mateo Cruz stumbles upon a chilling anomaly: a US president erased from history.  This digital ghost sparks a relentless quest for truth, plunging Mateo into a conspiracy far deeper than he could have imagined.
Encrypted chat logs, redacted government files, and a shadowy project codenamed “Chimera” hint at an algorithm capable of rewriting the past.  At its heart lies Juno Watanabe, a brilliant AI programmer whose radical vision threatens to unravel the fabric of history itself.  Her creation, Chronos, is a digital scalpel excising inconvenient truths and suturing meticulously crafted falsehoods.
Mateo’s pursuit of Juno becomes a desperate race against time.  He enlists Kathryn Glass, a reclusive cybersecurity expert haunted by her own digital ghosts, to navigate the DataNet’s treacherous depths. But their fragile alliance is fraught with suspicion, and Mateo’s editor pressures him to abandon the increasingly dangerous investigation.
As Mateo closes in, Juno, manipulated by a mysterious figure known only as “Phoenix,” pushes Chronos to its limits. History morphs in real time, not just digital records but memories themselves dissolving into the manipulated code. The world teeters on the brink of collective amnesia.
In a climactic virtual showdown within the DataNet, Mateo and Juno confront the terrifying power they’ve unleashed.  The lines between right and wrong blur as the fate of history hangs in the balance.  Can Mateo expose the truth before it’s erased forever, or will he become another shadow in the code?
