Straight to the Heart

Despite being happy that she had seen off the hunter, and sent him back to Sir Peter’s fields, she couldn’t help but think about him again as she walked further away from the forest. There had been something interesting in his smile, and the quick way that he laughed when he was amused. She had not been treated to a conversation like that for some time, and she thought that perhaps she had been wrong in driving him away. He may have been an interesting companion, if only for a few hours, and she knew so few of the local gentlemen that she might not get another chance to speak to him.

What shall come of this chance meeting?
