Teaching Symmetries in Primary Education

This ebook presents an interactive sequence of problems and other activities designed to guide students in the learning of plane symmetries. The first part is aimed at learning the definition and basic properties of symmetries. The second part of the ebook deepens into the knowledge of more complex properties, related to the product of symmetries. Most problems are solved with the dynamic geometry software GeoGebra. The first part of the ebook is suitable for any student beginning the learning of symmetries in the upper grades of Primary school or lower grades of Secondary school. The second part is more adequate for mathematically gifted students in those grades or students in upper grades of secondary school.
