Lyman Frank Baum (1856 – 1919) better known in the literary world by his pen name L. Frank Baum, was a brilliant American author chiefly known for his children's books. The world fame was obtained by one of his best works named The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. “The Cat and the Fiddle” is a short story by Frank Baum that narrates about Little Bobby and his friends: black cat, a tawny little dog and the family's moolie-cow.
One day parents buys the boy a fiddle and Bobby learns to play simple tunes upon it. After the incident happened to Bobby nearby a brook, he composes all elements of the evening into the lyric for his song.
