On his way back from the chocolate factory in Philopolis, where he had just sold his latest machine that would wrap and package their chocolates rapidly, Edward Gallow saw something that to this day he could not explain.
He saw an old fashioned country fair with all the roundabouts, swings, food stalls, clowns, and even an elephant, in the open field that had been vacant when he had first crossed it an hour or so earlier.
This baffled him completely, so he walked into the coffee shop to think things through and also calm his racing thoughts. On impulse he asked the waitress if a country fair had ever taken place in the open field opposite, and she directed him to some old sepia photos on the back wall.
On closer inspection, he noted that the photographer was Edward P. Gallow, -which was his name.
But when he mentioned this to the waitress, she said in that case, he had better read the current copy of the local newspaper and also visit her father, who was the lawyer handling the estate of the late Edward P. Gallow.
