The "Genius‪"‬

A painter of real talent marries, prospers in advertising, and destroys both his art and his marriage over a girl of eighteen. Dreiser's most autobiographical novel; it was suppressed for obscenity in 1916 and defended in a petition signed by five hundred writers. This edition includes all three books and a gallery of 58 plates of painting from 1854–1913, among them works by William Merritt Chase, Everett Shinn and Camille Pissarro.
