Footballer Jimmy Baxter is top goal scorer at his club and destined to be selected for the England squad, according to the experts. But Jimmy is found brutally murdered.
Inspector Tobias Sinclair of New Scotland Yard and his assistant, Sergeant Susan Lloyd, are under a great deal of pressure from above to get the crime solved. There are numerous suspects, but Sinclair soon realises that it is not only his enemies that he has to beware of! The crime is eventually solved, but is that only the beginning of the mortal danger that Sinclair will be facing...?
