The Smart Ones

Content to let the government track down the rest of the traitors, Dillon Winters settles into his new life. Unbeknownst to him, Murphy has more nefarious plans and soon unleashes a new version of hell on the unsuspecting survivors.
As the remaining survivors at the compound gain ground in their fight against the infected, Murphy unexpectedly throws a wrench into the works and creates a significant setback as the infected start evolving into new—and far more deadly—creatures.

This new generation of the beasts are not only deadlier, but through some unknown biological process, they've completely re-engineered their internal organs and returned from the dead!
Following an attack on a survivor camp, Dillon Winters and a small contingent of the United States Army are compelled to engage in a relentless pursuit of the smart ones. The ferocious beasts are far more dangerous than anticipated, leaving several casualties, numerous injuries, and a potential new variant of the virus in their wake.
In addition to the recently discovered smart ones, the survivors' precarious situation is further complicated by the discovery of a shocking plot to assassinate the president—and, unexpectedly, Dillon.
Plagued by uncertainty regarding who he can truly trust, Dillon exhausts every resource at his disposal to expose the conspirators and safeguard the president's life before the traitors can assassinate him. Will his efforts be enough for him to succeed in his quest, or will they end in failure—and possibly his own death?
