Pediatrician Erica Rosen is puzzled when two patients don't respond to treatment and others develop strange illnesses. Suspecting something sinister, Erica grows wary of the new pediatrician, Dr. Nilsen, who seems to be after her job and is romantically involved with her assistant, Martha. One evening, Erica finds a list hidden on Martha's desk with the names of some of her patients. An asterisk is next to the name of a boy with a mysterious illness. Convinced Dr. Nilsen is involved in a dangerous scheme, Erica takes matters into her own hands, unaware of the dangers she’s about to face.
