USS Lightning Rod

Ellis "Sailor" English used to be the most decorated, most highly-respected captain in the whole United Space Force. Now he's nothing but a grunt gunnery sergeant in charge of the worst fighter wing on board the USS Lightning Rod and the captain is NOT happy to have him around. Loud-mouth disciplinary cases, ex-criminals, nobodies from the streets, and even a few who can't fly at all—it will be a miracle if English can whip this lackluster bunch of punks into shape before the captain dumps him out of the service along with his pilots.

But when war breaks out and threatens everything the crew holds dear, everyone in the whole United Space Force will have to change their ideas about who and what Sailor English is. Can the most unlikely hero save what's left of Earth before disaster brings humanity to its knees?
