The Industrial Revolution ushered in a new era in the Lake District, along with increased exploitation of many of its natural resources, including many rocks and minerals such as graphite, slate and granite. This beautiful book was produced by the Threlkeld Granite Company in Keswick, which patented a new process for producing granite-based tiles.
