Bae graduated from the College of Art & Design and the Graduate School of Design at Ewha Womans University. She also studied illustrations at HILLS. She won the 27th Korea Children’s Book Awards for her first picture book, Seolbim, the New Year’s Dress. She wrote and illustrated Seolbim, the New Year’s Dress for Girls and Seolbim, the New Year’s Dress for Boys and also illustrated many picture books including Today Is My Birthday, My First Korean Dictionary and I’m Blessed.

Chung is a children’s literary translator. She studied translation at Ewha Womans University GSTI and worked for a publishing agency introducing Korean children’s books around the world. She has translated many Korean children’s books into English and been in a doctoral program in translation studies.
