The City was run by a guild of vampires. They send the cruel Tollard to kill him, but Fenn is aided by a mysterious figure and escapes. Everyone in the holding area is then put to death in a fit of anger and frustration.

After the escape, this new person becomes a father figure and trainer to Fenn, for he knows what Fenn can become.
He is the prophesy fulfilled; he is the Vampire Killer!

Fenn knows nor cares for any of thishis heart is burning for revenge. He will get it, one way or another.
