Diary by Increase Mather, March, 1675–December, 1676

This diary is a reprint of a first-hand account of the early days of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Written in antiquated English, the Reverend makes many religious references and includes his daily activities for over a year. Since these years were the early days of King Philip's War, references can be found throughout the volume to the armed conflicts with the neighboring Native Americans.
