Nadia, the first book in the Montreal International animated series, follows the experiences of a young girl who has recently moved with her father from Paris to Montreal as she tries to meet new friends, adjust to her new surroundings while struggling to keep her memories of her mother alive. When Nadia and her father decide to learn one of her mother's favourite Moroccan recipes, the experience prompts her to grow from a shy, quiet girl to a radiant member of her new community.
