New Frontiers in Socialization (Enhanced Edition‪)‬

The purpose of this volume is to advance theory and research on socialization
both within and across specific periods of the life course. We focus primarily,
though not exclusively, on the adult years. Since the bulk of the literature on
socialization has heretofore been dominated by problems, issues, and contexts
of childhood and adolescence, this decision seems particularly justified. We thus
hope, in some small way, to tip the scales in favor of a more balanced
literature.
