APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
YA author Leah Konen delivers a winner with her first adult psychological thriller. Removing herself from an abusive relationship, Lucy King arrives in upstate New York where she becomes in thrall to a couple also hoping to escape dark events in their past. This soon leads to a deception that releases multiple skeletons from all three characters’ closets. This expertly paced story is founded on relatable situations and unreliable people, and is full of sharp, plausible twists. Konen gently boils her ingredients together towards an explosive conclusion—but with enough tension that we were always utterly gripped.
