When Nikolai Smirnoff was thirty-five, he was an MMA champion with a loving wife and a baby girl he doted on. Then tragedy struck. His wife died in a horrible automobile accident, but thankfully, his little girl survived.
Leaving his MMA career behind to raise Divya, he opened a gym in the small town of Live Oak, Alabama.
Now, years later, his life is stable but lonely.

Until a young woman in her late twenties leases the adjoining space next to his gym and opens a dance studio. The vivacious Vicki Powell, once a dancer on Broadway, is attracted to the older man, but Nik has deep wounds.
