Flash fiction is a brief tale of imaginative narration with a beginning, middle, and ending. The breadth of any given flash fiction story varies. The word count can be as minimal as 100 words which is a most challenging undertaking – up to a maximum of 500 words. Other writers suggest an allowable word count of up to 1000 words.

My stories fall somewhere in between with an average of 300 words maximum. I believe this to be an adequate enough length to present a scenario, paint a scene, and provide the background, the main character, the plot, the challenge, and ultimately - the resolution. It is in the hopes that you, the reader, are both entertained and bedazzled by such unusual, and off center anecdotes aimed at raising an eyebrow or two, tickling your fancy, questioning your sanity, raising your curiosity or tugging at your heart strings.
