Right on Time

Norman Novus is a third-year doctoral student at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His wife is pregnant, and his toils amid the obscurity of academic anonymity have come to an end. Norman has developed a theory of natural selection that captures the attention of the scientific community—and the religious right.


With his blog overwhelmed, his faculty advisors oddly envious, and his colleagues in awe, Norman receives a request from Time Magazine for an interview. He gleefully agrees to do it, and is thrilled with the prospect of further popularizing his ideas. The interview, though, turns on him, and he finds himself portrayed as a scientific mystic and a young-earth propagandist.


Dismayed and annoyed with the publicity he receives, Norman lashes out. What follows is a harrowing testament to the faith we put in both science and God.
