Melissa Lovelace owns The Velvet Martini in downtown Bridgeport, Connecticut. When she isn’t making fine cocktails for her hip clients, she’s hanging out at her home in the suburbs trying to relax. But, one day, she encounters a handsome Shifter at her bar, and the encounter changes both of their lives.


Lionel Roberts is a man straddling two identities: his human side that is rational and his lion side that is driven by instinct and passion. The Shifter has moved from New York City from a shadowy background. He’s headed to Bridgeport to adopt his daughter after the mother wanted nothing to do with the baby. He tries to heal his heart and build a new life in Bridgeport. Little does he know that an unlikely meeting will mean everything for him in his new home.
