The King and His Hawk (Unabridged‪)‬

James Baldwin, American editor and children’s book author, wrote some of the most compelling short stories and fables, primarily based around mythology and history. The King and His Hawk is no exception to this. 

Originally part of Baldwin’s collection called Fifty Famous Stories Retold, this short fable, simply and beautifully written, tells the story of Genghis Khan and his favorite hunting hawk. It covers themes such as anger, trust, and regret, and its moral ending is both touching and powerful.
