Description de l’éditeur

In this book the author, a South African legal practitioner, considers Plato's descriptions of Atlantis in a quasi-legal manner, extracts the material aspects of Plato's descriptions of the physical environment of Atlantis and compares these 'allegations' from Plato with known facts about the submerged Hatton Rockall area in the North Atlantic. Having considered the physical similarities, a review of accepted, time relevant, pre-historic events are also compared to Plato's description of events. Concluding with a summary of the similarities the author invites the reader to agree with him that the extent of the similarities go beyond mere chance and that it is, in fact, probable that when Plato was describing the island of Atlantis he was describing an above sea-level Hatton Rockall. In the appendices certain mythological islands, said to have existed in the North Atlantic, and other myths, supporting the possibility that information can be passed down relatively accurately over millennia, are considered.
