Description de l’éditeur

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

When one decides which book he wants to translate for the English speaking world, he must consider a number of things. One thing that he must consider is his target audience. Sometimes a translator might choose to cater to a high level academic audience. At other times, he might choose to cater to children. This book is catered for an audience in between these two.

The book is perfect for what I like to term “easy reading.” It is a book that is meant to spark interest in Islamic subjects, without covering the specifics. Hence, if one desires to learn more about certain subjects covered in this book he would be referred to other works specializing on said topic.

This book is perfect to be read while lounging on one’s couch, while lying in bed before one turns his lights off, while riding a car, bus, or train on the way to one’s home, school, or workplace, and while spending time in the waiting room of an office.

One can read the various traditions that Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi picked and learn from the words of the Ahl al-Bayt (a). The traditions cover a variety of topics from contemplation to poverty; from the martyrdom of Imam Hussayn (a) to the sources of wealth; and from forgiveness to ignorance. No matter what tradition one picks he is sure to learn something from it.
