A Closer Walk

One of the pleasures of living on the East Coast of South Florida is long walks on a sandy beach and I do so at every opportunity. And I notice footprints along the way. When I see a large set next to a smaller set, I envision lovers holding hands strolling along the seashore. When I see a set of footprints next to paw prints, I smile and picture someone walking down the beach with their best furry friend. When I see a solitary set of footprints I wonder if these are the steps of a soul so burdened with grief and despair, they cannot manage another step on their own and are being carried along by the Creator of the Universe. If you are holding this little book in your hands, I hope you will read something on its pages that would inspire you to walk closer to Jesus. Who among us wouldn't want a closer walk with a merciful and compassionate Savior willing to carry you when your burden is too heavy?
