Throughout history, war professionals have been searching hard for new instruments to ensure irresistible superiority to their possible adversaries.
The situation now, of course, is completely different, since man, in this desire to achieve arms superiority, has put into play destructive instruments that not only destroy the adversary, but himself. It is a completely absurd situation, leaving the winner in the same situation of helplessness in which the vanquished. It is rightly said that extremes tend to unite.
