This revised and expanded version of Aerospace Actuators 1 introduces general considerations related to requirements, regulatory constraints, applications and reliability. It then explores hydraulically powered actuators, reviewing in sequence general concepts, the role of hydraulic fluid as an energy transfer medium and its conditioning, and the functions of conversion, metering and power management, along with system integration. The examples cover flight control systems, landing gear and engines in aircraft, helicopters and launch vehicles across commercial, civil and military applications.

This second edition includes numerous additions, along with new examples, figures, tables, orders of magnitude and references.
