The title is a misnomer
I read APROPOS OF NOTHING and found with great pleasure the colorful vocabulary and literary associations in which W Allen excels.Furthermore many, many thanks Woodie as I discovered thanks to you , Virginia Hall and quickly bought her biography : A Woman of no importance.
I read APROPOS as ebook on iPad with all the possibilities of accessing the web to check and understand better through his colorful descriptions of what’s make a witty and talented radio/theater writer then ; many of his references I didn’t know which I could check at will on the net .Very good insight at what’s creativity in movies and what’s makes a success : always a good story and if the actors are brilliant it helps !
All in all a real pleasure.
As to the way he has been framed by Mia F , and the way most of the profession has behaved in this respect is just a shameful disgrace...not to mention the New York Times which if assessing by WA assertions has lightly , sans vergogne we would say in French,emboîté le pas to the #metoo movement !, sitting pretty much on two clear cut judgments which cleared WA of child abuse ..did I say pretty ?
After all this is America and America under FBI’s J E Hoover went thru the witch hunt of McCarthyism , which victims were very much artists and actors .
