Description de l’éditeur

Bad Bear Bubby is a tongue-in-cheek picture book for grown-ups and growing-ups (10 years plus), about a teddy bear, named Bubby, who lives on his own in a cardboard box on the wrong side of the tracks.

Written in the gentle narration style of an old fashioned fairy tale, it starts out slowly as Bubby dreams of one day seeing the world and meeting a special someone, then ramps up gently as he is befriended by two other stuffed toys, Mad Marvin and Robbie the Ratbag. Two koala associates, Boom Boom and Bang Bang complete the group and Bubby joins them as they rob the local bank and enjoy life in the fast lane.

Crime does seem to pay but it doesn't suit everyone and Bubby begins to miss the quiet life, unaware that his friends are just as jaded as he is with constantly being on the run. With everyone fearing what everyone else might think if they admit how they really feel, the gang continues to do what they do, until the law catches up with them.

With photo-illustrations that are both hilarious and endearing, the book is also a clever pop culture parody, with cuddly toys interacting in the real world, worrying about their cholesterol intake, partying in motels and hiring shonky lawyers.

Without taking itself too seriously, Bad Bear Bubby can be viewed as a very funny little story and at the same time a gentle reminder that sometimes life does us a favor by kicking us up the backside when we know we should change our behavior, but don't.

From the author of the award winning, Dougal the Garbage Dump Bear, this is  quirky tale about self-acceptance and how the power of being your true self frees others to do the same.
