In some researcher's lab somewhere, all of these things and more are being developed, and it is only a matter of time before society is thrust face first into the whimsical worlds imagined in the science-fiction of our past. In these quiet, optimistic moments that look forward to the coming upheaval—but before these changes have yet arrived—lives Robert Merek, self-styled 'investigative' journalist for the prestigious (read: reviled) online news organization The Observer. Along with his partner and old friend Leonard, Robert is hot on the heels of a massive multinational corporation known as the DUCK, whom he believes to be hopelessly corrupt. With all of their previous efforts coming up empty and the story of their careers threatening to slip through the pair's fingers, Robert and Leonard are suddenly approached by one Allison McIntyre, who brings with her stories of murder, conspiracy, and breadcrumbs leading to something much bigger than either of them could imagine. The opportunity they were waiting for finally here, the journalists enthusiastically lend this mysterious woman their assistance, but not everything Allison has to say quite makes sense... ...and just what in the hell is “Bear-suit Mozart” supposed to mean anyway?
