Melisande had never felt like she fit in. Being a light fae princess with dark fae inclinations was not necessarily something you advertised to your royal family. Having only a handful of people who knew her true self made her feel lonely. When an evil strikes and leaves her comatose, it allows her to explore the dark magic she is drawn to.
