Blessed Be The Invertebrates
Description de l’éditeur
The residents of a small town in Alabama question their piety when a local pastor begins to explore the mysteries of invertebrate zoology and Western philosophy. The resulting crisis of faith sends the townspeople, along with the rest of the planet, into an existential tailspin. For some readers, the story will bring to mind the anti-intellectualism and conformity often encountered in small towns in America; for others, the fateful role that evangelicals played in the 2016 presidential election. The novelette includes a bonus short story and was inspired by the works of Flannery O' Connor, H.P. Lovecraft, Tom Robbins and Kurt Vonnegut.
