Burnt Earth

Slim Cassidy needs to find Ernesto Jaramillo before he is disappeared by the criminal/immigration system, a private prison, and the mysterious military contractor Burnt Earth. After a woman was killed in the southern New Mexico desert, the murder was pinned on Jaramillo. When Jaramillo is scheduled for deportation instead of prosecution, Cassidy becomes suspicious that somebody wants to avoid a criminal investigation. The stakes are much higher than she ever imagined.
