Description de l’éditeur

The California Substance Abuse Research Consortium (SARC) has, for more than 20 years, documented (1) California's developing and evolving substance abuse trends; (2) critical research efforts within the state conducted to raise awareness of and increase knowledge about local and regional substance abuse problems; and (3) relevant policy decisions and initiatives. SARC is sponsored by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (CA ADP) and the Pacific Southwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center (PSATTC), and coordinated by UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (UCLA ISAP). The 35th and 36th semiannual SARC meetings in Pasadena and Sacramento collectively succeeded in bringing together a diverse group of nearly 200 substance abuse professionals, including researchers, alcohol and drug administrators and staff, law enforcement personnel, criminal justice and social service agency staff, treatment practitioners, and policymakers. These individuals engaged in a highly informative and productive discussion of current substance abuse information on main topic areas chosen to address emerging statewide needs: the treatment issues, trends, and practices for women and children.
