Campaign Capers

This is a story about a man who life has been good to and now he has the time and means to give something back. He is fed up with the political arena, both state and federal, where speeches filled with promises, misinformation, platitudes, self-aggrandizing and cheap shots take the place of meaningful legislation and genuine interest in the needs of constituents. Corruption appears to be permeating the top levels of government. He believes he can make a difference if he can get elected. He throws his hat into the political ring and surprises many when he emerges a winner.

However, it doesn’t take long for him to learn that politics can be a very dangerous career if one angers the wrong people and he ticks some folks off before he’s even elected. His life and the lives of his family and colleagues are put at risk because he won’t go along with the program of some very hostile people or they just think he won’t.

What is most perplexing for him is he has no idea who is behind his troubles and that remains the case for quite a while. However, the culprits have no idea about who they are messing with. A former Navy Seal, it is ingrained in him to never give up as long as he’s breathing.

His adversaries are intelligent, resilient in stressful situations and don’t give up easily either. The reader will have no inkling about how the tale will end until the end. It’s a cliff hanger and that’s what makes this yarn so exciting.
