Cast in Moonlight

Barely a teenager, Kaylin Neya is a thief, a fugitive and an attempted assassin.

She also has a smart mouth, sharp wits and mysterious markings on her skin. All of which make her perfect bait for a child prostitution sting in the city of Elantra—if she survives her first meeting with the Hawks!

Surviving means reporting to Sergeant Marcus Kassan, a furred Leontine who detests paperwork almost as much as he hates sheltering a child—provided his unsheathed claws don't settle the matter first. With Caitlin offering broth and a quiet corner, Kaylin has to learn the rules before Ironjaw loses his temper.

Assigned to a pair of dangerously aloof Barrani corporals, she must scour the city's charred ruins for traces of lethal magic—assuming the arrogant immortals don't run out of patience before the killer strikes again. When the hidden runes on her skin begin to burn, Kaylin must help track the abductor before another victim falls.
