    Pleasant Book+ POINTS FOR NOSTALGIA

I’m 18 now, but when I was a little girl, my uncle gave me the first edition of Children Just Like Me from the late 90s. It was and is my favorite book and its the very reason why I plan on doing travel journalism work, once I graduate high school this fall. I lost the book many years ago when I moved to Europe and I wasn’t able to find a hard copy for a while. I had no idea a second edition was made, so I was eager to buy the digital version, even though my tiny iPhone screen definitely isn’t doing the book justice in terms of visuals. After all, the original basically shaped me into the person I am today. This book was pretty good. Overall, its very much like the first book and I think it was done well. However, I do not know if I have a poor memory, but I personally feel like this one was a lot less in depth. In the first book, we got to see the children’s bedrooms, learn about the family in detail etc. It didn’t give me the same tingly feeling as the first book, but I’m guessing it is because the first book was well, the first one. Also, I thought there would have been more variety in terms of places explored as compared the original edition. I don’t know if there were bigger things preventing the authors from visiting different countries but it would have been really nice. I have no regrets buying this book and I still have a deep love for it even though there were a few things I was a little disappointed by. This is such a beautiful little collection of lives and it is truly precious. I CANNOT wait to experience all these cultures one day.
