APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Women find the true Christmas spirit in their strength and determination in this cozy listen set amidst World War II England. In 1944, the air is nippy and winter is setting in for Britain’s bomber girls: the women on the home front delivering supplies and support to their country during its darkest hour. But things get especially hard for sisters Pearl and Thea and their dear friend Jenny when Pearl’s husband, Greg, goes missing during a flight over Europe, leaving Pearl snappish on the outside—and desperately afraid on the inside. Entering the world of these brave, caring women was like sipping on a mug of warm tea. We especially loved when the sisters’ grandmother Deedee travels in to support them during this especially difficult holiday, unwittingly dusting off remembrances of a past romance at the RAF base that the girls are delighted to uncover (and we were too).
