Description de l’éditeur

Containing beautiful images of Dallas from 1894, Dallas, Texas through a Camera tells a story of a historic city through photographs. Owned by Native Americans, French and Spanish settlers at one point or another, Dallas, Texas was ultimately settled by John Neely Bryan who surveyed the area in 1839. Officially founded by Bryan and other frontiersmen in 1841, Dallas was recognized and incorporated as a Texas city in February of 1856. By 1880, the city had become a hub for railroads and communications, making it one of the largest economies in the state. Today, Dallas is the ninth most populated city in the United States and the third most populous city in Texas. The city is the subject of dozens of popular movies and television shows, and the headquarters for companies like Blockbuster and AT&T. While the statistics prove impressive, the rich history of Dallas is captured beautifully through images.
