Dark Matter

The Earth is under attack, it is repeatedly being bombarded by a belt of radiation that is destroying our satellites and causing everything electrical to cutout, everyone in the scientific community is struggling to find some answers whilst anxiously waiting for the next strike.
In the background, a radio ham is gathering all the information and together with two young friend's, his son Jim, and the girl next door Alice, they are desperately trying to establish the source of the radiation.
Then Alice casually announces that she has a theory for the origin of dark matter.
Nobody in the scientific community can fault the reasoning behind this theory, but they have got CERN working on a proof.
An analysis of the results from CERN gives young Alice an idea about the origin of dark energy.
The question is can Alice and Jim find the origin of this radiation attack and will they be able to do anything about it?
